I really really wanted custard last night. So yes, I made custard at 11 pm and made a variation for my husband with Milo. It came out really really yummy for chocolate lovers!
So I made normal eggless custard and added milo to it. I was pretty generous with the milo as you can see. While it was on the fire I whisked it so it became a smooth chocolately (it’s a word I swear! hahaha) custard.
It was good… Hmmm… The husband loved it.
B’s Eggless Milo Custard Recipe
Makes: Enough for two hungry people.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 tbsp custard powder
- 2 tbsp evaporated milk
- 3 tbsp sugar
- vanilla essence to taste
- generous amount of milo (optional)
Method:
- Boil milk with sugar until its dissolved.
- Add evaporated milk.
- Mix custard powder in a bowl with water till there are no lumps. Add to the milk and whisk.
- Add vanilla essence.
- Custard is ready 🙂 Add milo and whisk if you want a chocolate mixture!
Note: I love custard and can eat it with anything! When my sisters were here, we had it over scones topped with Nutella. That was really good 🙂 The leftover custard can be refrigerated in a bowl. It will set in a few hours and can be eaten cold! 🙂
Enjoy this simple vegetarian dessert 🙂

looks good and you are dedicated to whip this up so late at night! I do not know milo (looked it up, so am on it now) and thought at first that Milo was your husband’s name. lol. Whoever he is, he is lucky to have a wife you cooks like you do 🙂 What a treat! And thanks for sharing the recipe. Though where would I find custard powder? Another ingredient that is new to me.
HAHAHA!! I’ll let me husband know of his new nickname LOL 😉 He loves eating as much as I do. So we are a good team 🙂
Custard powder is readily avaliable in supermarkets usually. In UK its easy to find and it was easy in Sydney as well. I usually buy Birds Brand but the brand doesn’t really matter. Milo is a healthier version to chocolate powder and it tastes better too! 🙂
I’ve never heard of Milo but this looks so delicious! I’m tempted to improvise with some hot chocolate!

Milo is very popular in Asia. People generally have it with hot milk – kind of like a healthier version of hot cocoa. It’s avaliable everywhere now but am sure it will taste just as good with hot choco! Enjoy! x
This sounds so yum! I’m not very brave in the kitchen, but your recipe’s nice and simple (plus, I love Milo), so must try!! 🙂
It’s so simple! I’m sure you’ll be fine 🙂 Do let me know how it goes 🙂
