I finally tried a green smoothie after thinking it looks like Shrek’s pee. I’ve been hearing about all the health benefits about the it so thought i would give it a go. I didn’t have chia seeds or flax seeds on hand but will definitely be adding it next time.
There you have it – a GREEN SMOOTHIE!
B’s Easy Green Smoothie
Makes: 2 glasses
Ingredients:
- 2 sliced frozen banana
- 1 cup of Kale
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
Method:
- Put liquids in the blender first and then remaining ingredients.
- Blend till its smooth!
Note: You can put 2 cups of kale instead but since I am new to this I preferred tasting just banana. Although it appears to look rather green, the kale was completely tasteless. Honey is optional as it is sweet enough without honey! it’s amazing how sweet bananas actually are 🙂

did you like it? I tried something similar once and could barely get it down. In the end decided I’d rather eat handfuls of parsley, kale, cilantro, etc for their cleansing effects. Yours looks like it might actually taste good, with that frozen banana. ??
I actually liked it Liz! It tasted just like banana smoothie actually. I really couldn’t taste the kale – I guess because I just used one cup! Frozen banana just makes everything more frothy and milkshake like. Give it a go and let me know what you think!
Another really easy and tasty way to eat kale is to pop them in the oven till they are crispy. Kale chips are really tasty!

just made a batch of kale chips last night–that’s how I usually fix it as it’s easy to go through a bunch of kale in an evening. Which balances out that piece of cake, etc, that I’m also bound to have. 😉 Will try the smoothie, then, as I agree that frozen bananas make everything better 🙂 Not sure if you were around when I was knee-deep in bananas, but this post (and the one following) is all about the ‘nana: http://wp.me/p2dvv9-Y1
Yeah I discovered Kale Chips just this year. Had never even thought of it – then saw it online. 🙂 I haven’t read that post yet. I def will 🙂 Thanks Liz!!
Yummy! I’ve made fruit smoothies with frozen berries and mangos, but haven’t tried one with bananas or kale yet. Will give this one a try! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hey Ada! I’ve not tried fruit smoothies with frozen mango actually. Would be on my list to try! Frozen berries are always nice 🙂 Thanks for dropping by!

I drink green smoothies a lot, but I only tried it with kale once. I didn’t care for it with the kale – it was too bitter for me. I usually use spinach, which tastes better to me. Still, this smoothie looks good and it’s not even green! It certainly doesn’t look like Shrek’s pee – haha!! Celeste 🙂
I think the lack of green was due to the fact that I was scared to go all out and not be able to drink it at all. LOL!
This way I could only taste the sweetness from the banana.. 🙂
HAHAHAHA! Shrek’s pee. 😉 Hope you’re doing gd Celeste!! xx
